Don’t mistake Rothenburg ob der Tauber for the bigger city Rothenburg in the north of Germany. The city is located on the popular Romantic Road through southern Germany and every year this is cute town is transformed into a winter’s fairytale. It’s medieval architecture is so well preserved that you will think you stepped back in time. I love this market because it’s authentic, charming and fun for kids. This market is EVERYTHING Christmas and is one of my favorites! Kaethe Wohlfahrt headquarters is also located here and if you know anything about them you know they are the ultimate Christmas company of the world! Rothenburg ob der Tauber is by far one of the best markets I have been to.

We used to go to this market every year with our girls because it’s so much fun for kids. This market is divided up into 5 smaller markets with loads to do for kids. Located on the Alsace route about an hour south of Strasbourg, Colmar is charming, genuine and so kid friendly. This was by far my girls favorite market to go to!

The Einsedler Christmas Market in Einsedeln, Switzerland is held for only about 9 days in December and is currently happening so run! This year from December 1-9 the town of Einsedeln is transformed into a Christmas wonderland. With their cathedral as a backdrop, this is one of the prettiest markets I have been to. Located in the mountains about an hour out of Zurich, this market is sure to impress anyone! But be sure to dress warm because it's cold!
